With a pretty solid game against the tough Ravens defense in the bag, all of the fantasy owners of Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson just wanted him to get out of the game healthy. That almost didn't happen. Peterson rolled his left ankle while being tackled in the fourth quarter of the Vikings' 33-31 victory. Yet, Peterson was able to return to the field on the team's next series and finish off his 143-yard day. Peterson became only the fourth 100-yard rusher against the Ravens in the past 58 games and the 20th total since 1999. He's also the second in a row, after Cincinnati's Cedric Benson ran for 120 yards against Baltimore last week.
Fantasy Analysis:
You should expect Peterson to take some time off during the practice week and maybe make an appearance on the injury report. But Peterson said after the game that his ankle felt fine. It was nice to see him top the 100-yard mark after a few weeks in which it looked like he just wasn't hitting the running lanes hard and was doing a little too much dancing in the backfield. He will have another tough matchup next week when the Vikings face the Pittsburgh Steelers, but it's not like you are going to think about benching him. Consider this another reason to do anything you can to get backup running back Chester Taylor on your team if you own Peterson.
