It’s hard to imagine Brett Favre not coming back for another season with the Minnesota Vikings, given his latest comments – and if he is, we cannot wait for the Saints-Vikings rematch.

Favre said yesterday that he would “love to go beat the Saints” – you might remember how the Vikings’ season ended in heartbreak against that very team in last season’s NFC Championship Game, or how, in what’s clearly a complete coincidence, those very teams play in each other in their 2010 season opener.
Oh, and there was the Visanthe Shiancoe-Darren Sharper Twitter feud that threatened to spiral out of control (that all started with a tweet about targeting Favre’s ankle), too.
So it’s understandable that Favre wants revenge, but surely he’ll only come back if he thinks he can still play at a high level.
“I know I can still play at a high level,” Favre said.
…okay, fair enough, but hey, we’ve thought he was done before only to have him come back – maybe this season is just the opposite. After all, he’s 40 years old. He’s been taking an NFL pounding for almost two decades. What if his body’s a wreck?
“If my body was a wreck, the decision would be made,” Favre told the newspaper. “But that is not the case.”
…All right, fine, he’s coming back. And the Saints will remember that line about beating them.
